The Monique Story (formerly ATX Eats & Treats) was birthed out of a major obsession for telling honest + real stories about the joys of life: delicious food, special family moments, and living in the incredible city of Austin. It wasn’t my favourite (but Kelsey sure enjoyed it!) These seafood noodles came to our table not as I expected but they were delicious! They were prepared slightly Italian-style and were covered in tons of scallops, mussels, octopus, shrimp and clams. It was divine and I’m definitely ordering them next time I visit. Four dinners with rice, but there was no Sports bar / Chinese restaurant. It was served with a rich Malaysian curry – such a wonderful, flavorful dish! It sounds so simple but it was sooo delicious! We also tried the onion pancake – it was incredibly fluffy and light. They were out of baby bok choy, so they substituted the veggie with mustard greens plus added Japanese shiitake mushrooms and served it in a huge plate with a light soy-based sauce. Changs serves a variety of Asian-inspired dishes and Chinese food, including hand-rolled sushi and traditional Chinese dim sum. ![]() I especially liked the hot chili oil on the side for drizzling/dipping. I finally understood what all the hype was about – they were beautifully crafted and absolutely delicious. We then had the chicken and pork soup dumplings and crispy shu mai. We started out with cocktails (of course) – a lychee martini and a ginger-tequila cocktail. Lin Asian Bar + Dim Sum opened by Chef Ling Qi Wu has been open for a few months and it has already becoming an Austin favourite! I was delighted to try their dinner menu full of incredible Asian cuisine with my friend/blogger Kelsey. ![]()
